Item Interdisciplinary Research in the Sciences: Implications for Library Organization(1992-07) Julie M.HurdAccounts in both the popular media and scientific literature attest to the increasingly interdisciplinary character of scientific research. The twentieth century has seen the emergence· of problem-centered and mission-oriented research in which discoveries and developments in one discipline are synthe sized into the research of a very different field, often with dramatic and life-altering results. This paper uses techniques of citation analysis to examine information use by scientists in a university chemistry department and offers a measure of the interdisciplinarity of the research they publish. The chemists whose published research was examined were found to make use of many journals that class outside the discipline of chemistry; over 49 % of the journals cited in a sample of their recent publications are classed in other disciplines. This study will consider implications for university libraries attempting to provide information services to scientists engaged in interdisciplinary research .Item Item SWOT ANALYSIS: A THEORETICAL REVIEW(2017-08-11) GURL, EmetThis study is a literature review on SWOT, qualitative and descriptive in nature. The study will examine SWOT Analysis in a historical, theoretical, time frame perspective, as an effective situation analysis technique which plays an important role in the fields of marketing, public relations, advertising and in any fields of requiring strategic planning. SWOT Analysis is an analysis method used to evaluate the ‘strengths’, ‘weaknesses’, ‘opportunities’ and ‘threats’ involved in an organization, a plan, a project, a person or a business activity. In this qualitative and descriptive study, firstly the position of SWOT Analysis in the strategic management process is explained, secondly the components of SWOT Analysis is examined. The study includes an international sports wear brand’s SWOT Analysis; historical origins of SWOT, advantages-disadvantages and the limitations of SWOT is also reviewed. Digital preservation is largely experimental and replete with the risks associated with untested Digital preservation strategies are shaped by the needs and constraints of repositories with little consideration for the requirements of current and future users of digital scholarly resources. Archives contain millions of documents like manuscripts, rare books, paintings, photographs, and historical records. All these constitute human heritage. Paper manuscripts, with the passage of time, are getting fragile and brittle because of various reasons. Lamination does not seem to be a permanent solution of preservation this cultural heritage for posterity. Digitization technology brings with it untold benefits for heritage preservation access. Once a document has been properly digitized, it become immortal and can remain accessible long after the original has ceased to exist. The option of digital access further aids in preservation of originals through reduced need for physical handling. U., Pramudibyanto, H., & Widuroyekti, BWabah global telah melanda dunia, begitu pula yg terjadi di Indonesia, sehingga program stay at home dilaksanakan sbg upaya menekan perluasan covid-19. Pada Universitas Terbuka, bulan Maret adalah awal semester tutorial masa registrasi 2020.1, baik tutorial online (tuton) maupun tutorial tatap muka (TTM). UT Semarang, sedang memasuki tutorial perdana pada mahasiswa yang mengambil modus pembelajaran TTM. Untuk menaati program pemerintah, modus pembelajaran dialihkan menjadi kelas virtual, agar mahasiswa tetap mendapatkan haknya memperoleh ilmu tetapi tetap aman dengan di rumah saja. Kelas TTM diganti menggunakan modus tuweb (tutorial webinar). Modus baru didapatkan mahasiswa sehingga mendorong penelitian ini dilakukan. Bagaimana kesiapan mahasiswa dengan pembaharuan modus belajar? Bagaimana penguasaan teknologi yang diperlukan mahasiswa dalam menyongsong pembelajarannya? Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan kuesioner. Populasi diambil dari 100 mahasiswa UT Semarang, pokjar Kabupaten Batang dari berbagai semester. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan 82% mahasiswa mendukung dan semakin semangat dalam menyiapkan teknologi untuk modus baru pembelajaran menggunakan tuweb.
